Woodmaster Molding Knifes

I have a T-8 and would like to sharpen my Woodmaster molding knives.  They are profiled for making door, base, or crown molding trim; some knives as long as 6".  I know I need to work in the back flat surface, not sure the correct method for this.  The molding knife jig appears too short for the knifes I use.

  • Hello Chuck,

We have for our machines a jig SVP-80 Moulding Knife Attachment. https://tormek.com/en/products/grinding-jigs/svp-80-moulding-knife-attachment

Since the sharpening is done on the flat backside of the moulding knife, this jig can handle all kinds of profiles with a maximum width of 100 mm (3 7/8"). So yours 6" knives will not work.

And your knives needs guide hole. Not suitable for knives without guide holes.
