Water trough

Do you change the water after each use.? I don't at the moment. I get mould on the side of the wheel. It also smells musty.

    Usually I don't change the water every time, but if I've sharpen a lot and a lot of material has been removed, I change the water and clean the water trough.

  • Thank you for the response. Do you add anything to the water. I am just using the standard wheel at present. I seem to get some mildew on the wheel. the trough is lowered when not in use.

  • We don't add anything in to the water when you use the waterstone. The mildew you got on the wheel comes probably from a mix of metal and stone parts.
