Which machine should I buy: Tormek T-1 or T-4?
I'm finally buying a Tormek after wanting one for years... I'll mostly sharpen kitchen knives and cleavers (I'm an enthusiast, not a professional chef). But at our summer cottage I also see a need to be able to sharpen whittling knives, an axe or two and the blades for the lawnmower.
Which should I get?
The T-4 seems the most vesatile but the T-1 seems easier to use for my main purpose, knives.
Any tips on what I should get as I can't afford both?
Is it even possible to sharpen a lawnmower blade or axe on the T1 even if it's not ideal?

As soon as you need to sharpen any other edge tool, the Tormek T-4 would be a better choice. It's a sharpening system with jigs and accessories which lets you sharpen virtually any edge tool you can think of. And since you also mentioned axes in your summer cottage, maybe the T-4 Bushcraft fits your needs? It has the two grinding jigs for sharpening both knives and axes included in the box.
You'd still have sharp kitchen knives but they will probably not be honed on a weekly basis like with the Tormek T-1 😊
Visit our machine comparison if you want a complete comparison between the specifications and details of the two machines.
I hope this will help you to find the right Tormek machine for you!
Stay sharp!
