SB-250 Blackstone Silicon Grinding wheel bush

Hello, The SB-250 wheel had seized on the spindle and I had to drill and scrape out the bush to remove the wheel.  The wheel is otherwise in excellent condition and replacing the wheel seems a bit extravagant. Is it possible to buy a replacement bush?

  • Hej Stuart

These bushings are casted, the only option beside a new stone is to turn one in t.ex. i PU and glue it into the centre. What do you have for diameter? We have old ones for the old stones, there we had 21 mm diameter.

  • Hello Wolfgang,
    Thank you for the reply.
The diameter is approximately 23mm so it would seem that making a new bush is the only option. What do you mean by 't.ex.i PU' and what tolerance did you use when fitting bushes to the old stones?

  • Hej Stuart
PU or PE or PUR is Polyurethane, a strong durable plastic and easy to work with.
We have a tolerance of 0,02 mm.
When the stone has radial wobble after you have fixed it, you can true the stone to get it run round again. That means the stone is a bit eccentric. To avoid to appear agin on the next trueing, mount always the stone with the label horisontal or make a marking on the side where the top of the stone is.
