Which jig do you recommend to use to sharpen Japanese chisels? The blade is much shorter than my other chisels.

You can sharpen the Japanese chisel in the SE-77 Square Edge Jig according page 125 in the handbook. If the chisel is to short and you touch with the jig the stone surface you can sharpen the chisel on the outside of a diamont wheel together with the MB-100 Multibase. The minimum protrusion is ca 5-7 mm. On page 153 in the handbook you see how to setup the chisel.
If the chisel is to thick then you can use the SVS-38 Short Tool Jig, if you prefer a flat grind instead of the hollow grind you can sharpen on the side with the SVS-38 according the above mentioned set up.
