Grinding wheel and leather strop

How do I know when to change these items? My stone is making a clicking sound when I apply the gritstone and the blade to the wheel. I would also like to know when to determine if the leather needs replacing. Thank you

It seems you have a jack in the stone, you need to true the stone with the TT-50.
The Leather Honing Wheel need no replacement as long as you not carve into the leather. Always use the leather wheel turning away from you.
After a while you build up a layer of used honing paste. Just use a back of a knife and scrape off the use paste, its like a waxy mass. Then apply new Honing Paste PA70.
I hope I could answer your question.
