Gouge Jig

I have seen ads for an SVD - 186 gouge jig and an SVD - 186R gouge jig. Are they the same tool or is there a difference? Thanks.

the only difference is that the SVD-186R, the R stands for redesign - it has a small locking screw underneath the central shaft. You'll need it only for chip carving knives, kiridashi knives, violin makers knives as for V-gouges. This makes it easier to sharpen them in a fixed position.
Otherwise there is no difference to the previous one.
