Leaving the machine on after use?
I have been in the belief that I should leave the machine on for at least 30 minutes or more after use. To ensure that the grindstone (SG-250, SG-200) stays in good condition.
Is this true?

All you hear regarding different treatments of the Grindstone or stories about it gets oval when hanging on the machine, the stone gets soft due water, it is swelling when left in the water, etc. belongs into the books of myts.
The only thing that can happen is that when you keep the stone in the water, it evaporates through the stone due the capillary effect. When you have a hard water, then lime will build upp in the pores and your stone gets clogged; even the slurry from the trough will get collectet in the surface area below the water level and create hard spots due clogging.
After sharpening, just lower the water trough, that's it.
It was a bit different when the stone was a natural sandstone in the old days.
Just keep in mind to store the stone and machine not below 0 C degrees.
