Please do not use any tool on the Ezy-lock. It will just damage the nut.
It can take some force to loosen the Ezy-lock if its sits for a very long time. Sometimes the inside washer is binding on the shaft. This washer needs to be able to rotate on the shaft to unlock the stone. Please use some penetrating oil on the contact surface between the shaft and the washer. Then hold tight on the honing wheel and with your other hand turn the stone clockwise.
If its stuck really tight you can use a plastic hammer and carefully tap on the nut to loosen any tension.
Then try to loosen the stone as described above.
You may have to yank it really hard to get it loose. When you removed the Ezy-lock you can clean the threads with a brush. Use some oil or grease on the threads for easy removal next time.
Good luck.
