What happens if the Tormek grinding wheel is left in the water?
If I leave my grinding wheel in the water trough after sharpening my tools on the Toremk sharpening machine, will it damage the wheel?

Yes and no. The stone itself does not get damaged by staying in the water. But if you leave the stone in the water for a long time, debris from the waterline can dry up on the surface as the water evaporates. The dried-up debris can cause clogging of the surface. Then when you use the stone, you can get high spots where the stone met the water line. An uneven stone will be the result. Have a clean water tray and lower it after you are done sharpening. That is the best way to prevent any unnecessary problems.

What would cause the stone to have an an uneven roundness, ie elliptic periferal shape, displayed as a bump when grinding.

Yes, it is only the truing tool TT-50 that will fix this.
You cannot use the stone grader SP-650.
It will only push the debris further in the stone.
If you got dried up spots with debris on the stone surface, you can use a root brush or similar to remove it befor you use the stone again. This should be done when the stone completely dry. If you brush it off before you wet the stone again you keep the surface clean.
Please do not over think this problem. It is easily preventable by lowering the water trough and keep the water as clean as possible.
