Determining the correct knife angle...

I am relatively new to sharpening with Tormek.  Recently purchased KS-123 for use on my T4.  From what I have viewed on youtube videos, even with this accessory,
I will need to know the correct angle prior to setting.  Is this correct?  I rarely find mfg information regarding the set angle.

Right, yes you need the angel, otherwise choose an angle that suits the task of your work.
An 12,5 (25) degree angel suits the most tasks, a 15 (30) degree angel is a bit more on the robust side. It depends also on the steel. A milder steel works better with areound 30 degrees to keep it's sharpness, a harder steel works fine with a smaller angel, but maybe delicate when it comes to bones och frozen food.
    There is no strict rule.
We have a list of different knife manufactures and knife models with the factory sharpened angels.

I hope this will explain in short the issue.
